Robyn joins the team

We are delighted to welcome Robyn Hancock to the staff as assistant volunteer coordinator on completing her training with WRAGS (Work and Retrain as A Gardener Scheme), part of the Working For Gardeners Association (WFGA).
She received her certificate of graduation from Rebecca Moore-Yelland, Regional Manager for WRAGS after working for a year at Helmsley learning a wide range of horticultural skills and building on previous experience.
Having started by volunteering at the garden, Robyn went on to train at Askham Bryan College as a RHS Level 2 Gardener, before continuing her training with WRAGS.
Robyn will be working initially two days a week, instructing and supporting the 70 plus members of the horticultural volunteer team alongside volunteer coordinator Heather Thomas.
Robyn herself said “I feel really fortunate to be able to further my training here at the garden: being part of the team and working together to make Helmsley Walled Garden a really special place to volunteer and work feels great.”
