Parking
The garden does not have any public parking.
Parking is available in the nearby town of Helmsley and the nearest public car park to the garden is the Cleveland Way car park just a short distance from the garden. There are blue badge spaces available in the Cleveland Way car park. If a visitor to the garden needs to be dropped off at the garden gates, please contact us and we will ensure that this can be done safely. To drop off at the garden, please email Louise Harrison on [email protected].
Further parking can be found in the Market Square in Helmsley and on the surrounding access roads.
Getting to the Garden
If you are on foot coming from the town square, cross Market Place and walk past All Saints Church. Turn right into Church Street and cross the road. The next left turn is Cleveland Way. Turn there and make your way across the car park to a footpath. Signs along the footpath direct you to Helmsley Walled garden.
Car parking is in the Cleveland Way long stay car park. Once parked and looking at the castle the garden is a short walk along the path to the right and through the overflow car park.
By bus – the EYMS Bus route 128 runs from Scarborough and Pickering to Helmsley (Scarborough and Pickering to Helmsley timetable) and the Reliance 31x from York to Kirkbymoorside via Helmsley (York to Kirkbymoorside via Helmsley timetable) In summer The Moors Bus has several routes that run through Helmsley (timetable).
Walkers on The Cleveland Way will find the garden just on their left as they leave Helmsley heading for Rievaulx Abbey. Why not take an hour or so out of your walk to come and visit us.
