Nurturing people and plants

We know that both nature and being outdoors are good for our wellbeing. At Helmsley Walled Garden we want everyone to feel the therapeutic benefit not only of gardening but also of the beautiful environment created by our volunteers.

All of our volunteers are involved with the maintenance and development of the garden and we provide opportunities for therapeutic horticulture, enabling people to improve their mental and physical health through gardening.

Great day out

What a surprise to find this treasure behind the walls. Loved the greenhouse and the display, dahlias and plant combinations and especially the trained fruit!

Excellent garden

Excellent gardens. Well thought out and wildlife friendly. Perfect for birds and aided by the pond. Good to see a ramp to enable hedgehogs to climb out.
